Utah House of Representative - District 38
Charles Henderson
Utah House of Representative - District 38
Greetings Friends and Supporters,
We are in our in the "final push" to insure we are victorious on Tuesday, November 4th! And we know we could not have done it without all of your support. However, we aren't there just yet and we cannot finish strong without your help over the next two days. Here's a status report of exactly where we're at.
We have 690 GOTV calls that need to be made on Monday and a similar amount to be made on Tuesday. We need volunteers for Monday and Tuesday all day, I believe we can legally make calls up to 9pm, but we think we'll have them all completed earlier enough to go out walking. Saturday was a great day and the response was awesome but we have a few areas we can hit again just to ensure our message is being heard and those that have not yet voted are encourage to vote.
As for walking, we have covered all of our areas and based on our collected data and polling we need to focus on those remaining phone calls tomorrow. However, we would love to get them done by mid afternoon and go out for a walk.
On Election Day we'll be working in a coordinated effort with the other campaigns at UEA Headquarters. The Operating Engineers have also offered space and phones if our volunteers exceed the available space at the UEA Headquarters.
Collectively, so far we have 41 volunteers to use on Election Day and hope to recruit another 20 on Monday. The precincts have been prioritized and the volunteers will be used to maximize our success. This is especially good for us since ours may very well be a tight race.
If there is anyone you know that would be willing to work a shift in the morning afternoon or evening as a poll watcher Please contact Chris Robison at 801-557-3444 and/or Charles Henderson at 801-440-6241 and we will arrange for training and provide schedules.
Election Day, Charles will be making calls all day at UEA. He has been told he will not be allowed to leave his chair unless it is to use the bathroom. You can expect Charles as well as Chris to be at UEA the vast majority of the day.
The important thing for the next two days is that we have fun and work hard. We've worked our asses off (except for Charles cause he doesn't sleep), and it’s paying off, we look good in the polls and the response on the doors and on the phone are outstanding. Early Voting is making our job on Election Day that much easier. We will be printing the call lists tomorrow night after all the early voting data has been updated so that our GOTV list for Election Day is as concise as possible. To be honest the news sources are saying we will see 80% turnout, and whenever turnout is high democrats win.
To volunteer, please contact Chris Robison at 801-557-3444 and/or Charles Henderson at 801-440-6241 or you can email us at volunteer@vote4charles.com.
Let’s work hard and keep our spirits up, Charles when we win... the real work starts.

Henderson to run for District 38 seat
Charles Henderson, a community activist, announces his bid to run for District 38.
“I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the Utah State Legislature in District 38,” said Henderson. “I am running because I believe the residents in Legislative District 38 deserve a strong principled leader, working for their interest.
“As one who has worked to make our community livable and appealing to all that live and visit, I have kept one very important belief in the forefront of my thoughts and actions - that as an elected official, I work and represent the residents of our community.
“As a Legislator, I am committed to administering responsible, transparent, and open government. I will continue to work to enhance transit and educational opportunities, promote our local economy, protect our environment and advance public safety.”
Henderson, who was recently appointed by Mayor Peter Corroon to the UTA Board of Trustees representing unincorporated Salt Lake County, is the Democratic Legislative Chair for District 38, as well as the Vice-Chairman for both Salt Lake County Community Economic Development Advisory Committee and Kearns Community Council.
Henderson is a Utah native and a father of four. He attended the University of Utah and Westminster College.
