Utah House of Representative - District 38
I am running because I believe the residents in Legislative District 38 deserve a strong principled leader, working for their interest.
As one who works to make our community livable and appealing to all that live and visit, I have kept one very important belief in the forefront of my thoughts and actions - that as an elected official, I work and represent the residents of our community. In doing so, I have always remained conscious of the fact that I must hold myself to a higher standard and thus I subscribe to the belief that leaders must be principled in our conduct, whether it is within or outside our community.
As your Legislator, I am committed to administering responsible, transparent, and open government. I will continue to work to enhance educational opportunities, promote our local economy, protect our environment and advance public safety.
As an elected official of the Kearns Community Council, where I serve as Vice-Chair, I have acquired specific insight into what my neighbors and communities expect from their local and state government. Such as, innovative public schools for their children, safe neighborhoods, a productive economy and a government that actually works for the people. The families of my district work hard and I will work hard for them.
Although there are many issues that must be addressed, such as the Environment, Transit and Transportation, Government Corruption and Ethics, and taking care of our Veterans. As I have walked and talked with many of you in my District, you have told me that our greatest priorities must be:
1. Providing access to affordable healthcare
2. Providing quality public education for our children
3. Stimulating the economy and creating jobs
4. Protecting our pensions, Social Security, and Medicare
5. Reducing Crime and drug abuse
When I am elected to the House of Representatives, I will be a stalwart advocate for your priorities. Therefore, I am asking you to stand up for me, as I will also stand up for and alongside you.
My district, which is comprised of working families, who like you and me share a deep commitment to a core set of principles – principles that compel us to work hard to preserve an economy that rewards those who commit themselves to give back to our community.
We share principles that compel us to Strengthen Public Education as an investment in the future of our families. We share principles that compel us to take care of Senior Citizens and those who need a hand up from time to time.
It is my goal to deliver progressive representation to my district and provide my community with honest, ethical leadership and the promising future that they deserve.
I understand that anything worth having comes with a cost, however I do not support a toll on the MVC. In fact, as a member of the UTA Board of Trustees, I support the Wasatch Front Regional Councils Transit Plan, which would put Transit in advance of MVC.
